The Months: The second Season of The Year Long Celebration of God is the Season of Grace which spans December, January, and February.
The Theology: Theology is the study of God, and during these three months we yearn to meditate more on God's grace. God shows grace when He gives us things that we do not deserve. Everything in this life is a result of God's grace. A Savior, the weather, your possessions, your relationships, comfortable experiences and even uncomfortable experiences are all better than we deserve.
The Soteriology: Soteriology is the study of salvation. After we have recognized our need for a Savior, we can be justified. Justification occurs the moment we put our complete trust in Jesus Christ to reconcile us to the Father. At the moment of Justification, we are pronounced positionally righteous before God the Father and our names are written in the Lamb's Book of Life.
The Holidays: The primary holidays in the Season of Grace are Advent and Christmas. The secondary holidays are New Years, Valentines, and Family Day (Canada)..
The Solemnity: During the Season of Mercy we observe the Judgement of God due to the sins of mankind we observed last season. Man's conscious choice to rebel against God not only condemned all humans to an eternity without Him, but it was also the impetus for God to show humanity His eternal grace by sending His Son to purchase our salvation.
The History: The Year Long Celebration of God and the Season of Grace were created by Aaron M. Brewster in 2015. The official inaugural year started in September of 2020. Aaron chose grace as the attribute to highlight from December through February because it beautifully encapsulated the main thrusts of Advent, Christmas, New Years, Valentines, and Canada's Family Day.
