The Months: The first Season of The Year Long Celebration of God is the Season of Mercy which spans September, October, and November.

The Theology: Theology is the study of God, and during these three months we yearn to meditate more on God's mercy. God shows mercy when He doesn’t give us the consequences we deserve. The Lord mercifully withholds the full force of death, exhaustion, purposelessness, loneliness, consequences, fear, slavery, and discontentment. Each of these acts of mercy are purposefully observed during this Season.

The Soteriology: Soteriology is the study of salvation. The first necessary stage of having a relationship with God is Desperation. This is the realization that we desperately need God and yet are incapable of being saved by our own works or merit. It's realizing that we are spiritually destitute and being so grieved by that reality that we humbly throw ourselves on the mercy of God.

The Holidays: The primary holidays in the Season of Mercy are Creation Week, the Day of Atonement, and Thanksgiving. The secondary holidays are Labor Day, Grandparent’s Day, Daughter & Sons Days, Halloween, and Veteran’s Day.

The Solemnity: During the Season of Mercy we observe the Fall of Mankind. Man's conscious choice to rebel against God not only condemned all humans to an eternity without Him, but it was also the impetus for God to show humanity His eternal mercy by not giving us what we deserve without first giving us an opportunity to embrace His salvation.

The History: The Year Long Celebration of God and the Season of Mercy were created by Aaron M. Brewster in 2015. The official inaugural year started in September of 2020. Aaron chose mercy as the attribute to highlight in autumn because it beautifully encapsulated the main thrusts of Creation Week, Labor Day, Grandparent’s Day, the Day of Atonement, Daughter & Sons Days, Halloween, Veteran’s Day, and Thanksgiving.
